Rollcor exterior door solutions are designed to deliver reliable performance and a consistent appearance in outdoor environments. Built for exterior, single-storey applications, these products provide secure access and architectural continuity while ensuring durability, weather resistance, and long-term value.

From fully operable roll-up doors to non-functioning faux doors, Rollcor offers exterior solutions that integrate seamlessly into building façades while meeting the practical demands of outdoor use.

Products

RollCor roll-up doors are engineered for dependable operation in outdoor, single-storey applications. Designed to withstand exposure to the elements, they provide a reliable access solution for active openings that require durability and consistent performance.

Roll-Up Doors

RollCor faux roll-up doors offer the appearance of a traditional roll-up door for exterior, single-storey applications where access is not required. Commonly used for inactive bays, blocked openings, or façade uniformity, they deliver a clean, cohesive exterior look without moving components.

Our Roll-Up Door Features

Weather-Resistant Galvanized Steel Curtain

The RCX door is forged from 26-gauge Grade 80 galvanized steel, treated with a high-performance paint system. This provides a critical barrier against the elements, offering superior UV resistance to prevent fading and advanced corrosion protection against rain and humidity.

Smooth, Quiet & Wind-Ready Operation

Even in high-traffic exterior environments, the RCX operates with minimal noise. Integrated felt tape and polyethylene wear strips reduce friction, ensuring the curtain glides smoothly while preventing the metal-on-metal clatter often associated with outdoor wind or frequent use.

Heavy-Duty, Long-Life Components

Exterior reliability starts with the door’s skeleton. From 12-gauge galvanized brackets to reinforced galvanized center and bottom axles, every component is engineered to provide the structural stability required for outdoor exposure and long-term reliability.

Maintenance-Free Torsion Springs

Standard exterior doors often suffer from rusted springs. Our factory-lubricated, oil-tempered helical torsion springs are specifically designed to resist corrosion and reduce wear, delivering consistent, reliable performance year-after-year with zero ongoing maintenance.

Precision Tensioning for Perfect Balance

Outdoor installations can be demanding. Our built-in hex-drive tensioning mechanism allows for simple, precise door balancing during installation. This ensures a tight, controlled seal and smooth operation, even on uneven exterior surfaces.

Custom Sizes for Any Opening

Whether for a custom shed, a residential outbuilding, or a commercial loading bay, RCX exterior doors are available in custom sizes up to 10′ × 10′. This flexibility makes them the ideal choice for a wide range of exterior self-storage and light commercial applications.

BeckryTech Paint System: Engineered for maximum exposure, offering 40 years of film integrity and 30 years of resistance against color fading and chalking—essential for maintaining curb appeal in high-UV environments.

12-Gauge HDG Brackets: Hot-Dipped Galvanized (Z160) steel guide-mounted brackets provide superior strength and rust protection for the door’s primary support structure.

Precision Tension Gear: Robust galvanized steel featuring a Hex Drive system for simple, precise balancing, ensuring a tight seal and smooth operation even on exterior openings.

Corrugated Sprocket with Bearing: A 9.5” galvanized steel sprocket matches the door curtain profile and features a grease-filled radial ball bearing to prevent seizing and ensure smooth travel.

Heavy-Duty Door Guide Rails: 18-gauge, Grade 50 galvanized steel, pre-punched for secure anchoring. Fitted with polyethylene wear strips to eliminate metal-on-metal noise and resist wind-driven friction.

Reinforced Bottom Seal Bracket: Roll-formed from 24-gauge galvanized steel and reinforced with a 1.5” x 1.5” galvanized angle to provide a rigid, weather-tight seal against the threshold.

Galvanized Center Axle: Constructed from a 1-inch round galvanized tube with a 2mm inner casing for robust support against curtain sag and wind pressure.

Advanced Friction Control: Integrated felt wear strips and polyethylene guides ensure the door remains quiet and easy to operate, even in high-wind exterior applications.

Oil-Tempered Spring Clamps: Crafted from 2.5mm-thick galvanized steel with CNC-processed bolts for reliable, long-term tension hold across varying temperatures.

Galvanized Hardware: Handles and stops are fully galvanized to prevent corrosion and ensure easy manual operation year-after-year.

King’s Welding Storage - Miramichi, NB

Complete Storage Facilities

6 Buildings, 4 Phases — How King’s Welding Built Smart with Cold-formed Steel

King’s Welding, based in New Brunswick, approached MetalCor with a long-term vision: to build out a site that could serve their business needs today, while allowing for future adaptation and expansion. Over the course of five years and four carefully planned phases, they’ve completed a total of six buildings with MetalCor—including two large clear-span Cold-Formed steel buildings and four mini storage buildings.

The clear-span structures, each with a 10′-6″ eave height, were initially designed for workshop and equipment use. While only one access door was installed in each building during the original build, the MetalCor team pre-engineered sidewall framing to accommodate future door openings. This foresight gives King’s Welding the flexibility to convert or subdivide the interior in the future—whether for rental bays, additional workshop access, or private storage units.

Frequently Asked Questions

The RCX is specifically engineered for outdoor exposure. It features 26-gauge Grade 80 galvanized steel treated with a high-performance paint system for UV resistance and corrosion protection. Additionally, all structural components—including the 12-gauge brackets and factory-lubricated torsion springs—are designed to resist rust and withstand wind-related stress.

The RCX door is designed for “wind-ready” operation. By integrating felt tape and polyethylene wear strips, we reduce the friction and metal-on-metal clatter often caused by wind. This ensures the door remains quiet and glides smoothly even in high-traffic or exposed outdoor environments.

No. Our helical torsion springs are factory-lubricated and oil-tempered. This specialized treatment is designed to prevent the rusting commonly seen in exterior door springs, delivering reliable, maintenance-free performance year after year.

Yes. We offer custom-sized RCX exterior doors for openings up to 10′ × 10′. This makes them a flexible solution for a wide variety of applications, from residential outbuildings and sheds to commercial loading zones and self-storage facilities.

The RCX features a built-in hex-drive tensioning mechanism. This allows installers to make simple, precise adjustments to the door’s tension, ensuring a perfect balance and a tight, controlled seal against the elements.
